Optikron develops and realizes customized coatings with technological know-how and experiences of decades in manufacturing of high precision optics in the technology region of Jena where optics industry has a important tradition. Especially for miniaturized optics we have developed outstanding solutions for realizing optical coatings tailored to customers needs covering the whole surface without uncoated margins. This generates big advantages on smaller optical components. Additionally, we are offering autoclavable coatings for micro optics used in modern medical devices like micro optics for endoscopes. Positive effects are additionally generated by the in-house combined competences as well as the in-house available technical and technological capabilities. Our optics production, our tooling department and our coating department with latest technical equipment, are working hand in hand for realizing complex solutions which we can offer our customers from one source.

For developing optimal coatings, which are often essential for precision optics, we use modern software for generating customized coating designs tailored to the needs of our customers applications. These coatings will be realized by plasma-ion assisted evaporation processes in latest coating machines. These processes are generating coatings with improved characteristics and they allow the realization of a lot of high performance coatings with relatively low temperatures during the process. So the temperature stress for the substrates can be minimized. This is especially important for sensitive micro optics.

Optikron offers coating services for job order production on customers substrates as well as complete optical components. We develop and manufacture antireflection coatings, metallic mirror coatings, high and partially reflective coatings, filters and beam splitter coatings, especially for VIS and NIR applications.
